03 new Governors sworn in today

Colombo (News 1st) -Three new governors were sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena today. The swearing in took place at the Presidential Secretariat. Rajith Keerthi Tennakoon was sworn in as the new Governor of the Uva Province. He served as the Executive Director of Campaign for Free & Fair Election. He was also a civil activist and the Executive Director of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka. Senior Lecturer Dhamma Dissanayake was sworn in as the Governor of Sabaragamua province. Dhamma Dissanayake, who is the Convener of the Democratic Collective serves as a Senior Lecturer of Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Colombo. Dr. Sunil Raghavan was sworn in as the Governor of the Northern Province. He is both an author and a researcher and serves as a university lecturer. Former Governor of the Northern Province, Reginald Cooray was also captured on cameras leaving the Presidential Secretariat earlier today.
