O/L evaluation second phase set to begin on Tuesday

Colombo (News1st) - The Department of Examination states that 4 schools will be closed from 8th to 17th January for the 2nd phase of the GCE Ordinary Level Examination evaluation. Commissioner General of Examinations B.Sanath Pujitha stated that Isipathana College Colombo, Mahanama college Matara, Kurunegala CWW Kannangara Vidyalaya and St. Anthony's Girls school Kandy will remain closed during this period. He further stated that another 21 schools will be used for the evaluation. The evaluation will be carried out by 3500 inspectors attached to 257 assessment panels. The commissioner general stated that due to the Thai Pongal falling on the 15th of this month, the Tamil medium evaluation board was given a holiday on that day. The first stage of the evaluation was held from 23rd to 31st of December.
