Army attempts to enter Namal Kumara's residence

COLOMBO (News 1st) - At a media briefing Namal Kumara claimed that army officers in civil had attempted to enter his house last night (January 04). He added that he had contacted the OIC of the Maha Oya Police as to why the army officials had attempted to enter his residence. The OIC confirmed that the men had been from the police and the army and added that an army major had wanted to meet him (Namal Kumara). As the latter was not at his residence at the time of the visit the men had left. Kumara posed a question as to why the armed forces had visited his parents in Ampara whilst knowing that he resided in Warakapola. Kumara added that he will be escalating the matter to the commanders of the armed forces. He continued if he is to be arrested he can be found in Warakapola and requested that his parents should not be harassed.
