3 arrested in connection drug smuggling

Colombo (News1st): Three suspects who were involved in heroin and cannabis smuggling were arrested in raids carried out in several areas in the country. Police said the stock of heroin that was seized weighed over 8 grams. Another 18 parcels of Cannabis wrapped in 2 gunny bags were discovered in a raid that was carried out in the Iluppukaduwei Sippiyaru area in Mannar. The stock of cannabis weighed over 38 kgs. The suspects who are residents of Moratuwa, Ratmalana, and Bulankavil are to be produced before courts today (January 03).
