COLOMBO (News 1st) – Former Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi of the Sri Lankan Navy has been further remanded till the 09th of January.

The former commander was arrested over the abduction and assassination of 11 youth from Colombo in 2008.

The order was issued when he was presented before the Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.

The CID informed courts on a previous occasion of a complaint received regarding death threats levelled at the main witness LCDR Chaminda Welagedara and several other witnesses.

LCDR Welagedara is due to record a statement before the Fort Magistrate today (January 02) on the death threats.
