Police open fire at truck illegally transporting cattle

Colombo (News1st): The Police has opened fire at a truck transporting cows illegally. According to the Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara, the Police had attempted to nab the suspects using roadblocks, however, the driver had ignored the roadblock. Police had then shot at the gas tank of the truck. The Media Spokesperson added, the lorry which had run out of fuel had been abandoned by the suspects in the Kapuduwa area. The suspects have fled the scene. The Police are currently in custody of 14 cows and the truck which was used to transport them. Further investigations to locate the suspects are underway.
