Welikada Prison employee arrested for the possession of heroin

COLOMBO (News 1st): A 28-year-old has been arrested in Marawila for the possession of heroin. According to Police, the suspect had 1 kilogram of heroin, valued at over Rs. 12 Million, in his possession. Further investigations are being carried out by Marawila Police. Meanwhile, a prison employee was arrested while in possession of over 7 grams of heroin inside the Welikada prison. The arrested suspect is said to be a pharmacologist. He is due to be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrates court today (December 24).
