Colombo (News1st) - The vote on Account to cover the expenditures of the first four months of 2019 was passed in Parliament with a majority of votes. 102 votes were cast in favor of the proposal while 6 votes were cast against it. UPFA Parliamentarians were not present in the chamber during the vote.
The Government’s expenditure for the next 4 months has been set at Rs 1,765bn with a majority of it being allocated for debt servicing. Following the vote the Parliament was adjourned. Parliament will convene for the final time this year at 10.30am today (Dec 21). Parliament will convene once again on the 8th of January 2019.
