Colombo (News1st): Former Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi of the Sri Lanka Navy who was arrested over the abduction and killing of 11 youth from Colombo was further remanded to the 02nd of January 2019. The suspects were produced before Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake. The CID informed court today Commodore D. K. P. Dassanayake and Commodore Sumith Ranasinghe both suspects in the case and granted bail have been reinstated in service. The Criminal Investigations Department said as a result of this, the main witnesses in the case Lieutenant Commander Chaminda Welagedara has received death threats. IP Nishantha Silva appearing for the CID informed the court that two Navy Intelligence personnel are seated in court and said, as a result, his life too has come under threat.
