SLFP joining the opposition is a big victory - Basil R.

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa noted that the SLFP joining hands with the opposition is a big victory for them. He made these comments at a meeting held at Homagama. Amidst rumours of certain members from the UNP joining the SLPP and certain MPs from the SLFP crossing over to the government the Former Minister stated that that assurances have been provided to the President and Mahinda Rajapaksa that those currently in the party (SLPP) and those intending to join the party will not leave under any circumstance. He further noted that although certain MPs have notified their intention to join the SLPP that memberships have not been issued yet.
