Man arrested for the illegal possession of firearm

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The police confirmed that an individual was arrested from Mathammana, Gampaha for the possession of a foreign manufactured firearm. The police said that the arrest was made based on a tip-off received. A pistol and four bullets were also seized from his possession. Upon interrogating the suspect the police was able to apprehend two other men aged 43 and 30 years involved in the illegal trade of firearms. The suspects are to be produced before the Gampaha Magistrates Court today (December 17).
