20 SLFP MPs to join the UNP - Nalin Bandara

Colombo (News 1st) - UNP MP Nalin Bandara stated that when their government was toppled, several individuals were highlighted due to their acting skills and one such individual is Namal Kumara who played a prominent role in the film of toppling the government. He went on to state that once the government is re-established, the people responsible for scripting, producing and directing this film should be identified. He then noted that the GMOA has issued a statement refusing to work with Dr. Rajitha Senarathna as the Minister of Health and this is after one and half months of hibernating. He went on to state that after a cabinet is appointed the list should be sent to the GMOA for approval so that they can add footnotes and send it back. MP Nalin Bandara stated that discussions are being held to allow around 20 SLFP MPs to join the UNP. He went on to state that while the UNP does not approve a whole party joining them, it could be done if they came in as individuals. He noted that their aim is to establish a UNP government. He noted that those who join the government will have to be prepared to obtain UNP membership. He stated that this is their stance and that they are against anyone joining as members representing the SLFP.
