COLOMBO (News 1st) – Convening a meeting at temple trees this evening (December 14) several members of the UNP commented on the current political situation of the country.
UNP MP Harin Fernando said that they expect that Parliament would be restored to the way it was before the 26th of October and in the process stabilise the country.
MP Harshana Rajakaruna also speaking at the meeting said that they expect the President to invite Ranil Wickremesinghe to re-establish the government and that failing to do so will only push the country into an even bigger crisis.
He added that if the President continues to deny the position of PM to Wickremesinghe, in a backdrop where the entire country is calling for it, it would show that the President is not a democratic leader.
