150 arrested for drunk driving

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A spokesperson for the police confirmed that complains have been filed against 150 individuals for driving under the influence. Director of Traffic Administration and Road Safety SP Indika Hapugoda confirmed that they were arrested in routine stops in Colombo in line with the festive season. Further, he said that leave granted for police personnel engaging in traffic duties will be limited in order to ensure the safety of the general public and to minimize traffic.
