The country is in a fix as the leaders depend on foreign powers

Colombo (News 1st)- Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa attended an event held at the Abhayarama Temple in Narahenpita yesterday (Dec 09). At the event, Gotabaya was questioned regarding the 19th amendment to the constitution. He replied stating that issues arise when people try to change the constitution according to their personal requirements and that it is very clear that the current political situation in the country is a direct result of a flaw in the 19th amendment. When questioned regarding foreign influence in the country, the former Defence Secretary stated that Sri Lanka is an independent country and that we are facing issues now because the individuals governing the country at present have sought to be dependent on certain foreigners and politicians.
