Stern action against examination fraud

Colombo (News1st): The Department of Examinations has suspended the candidacy of the student who was charged with committing examination fraud by using a mobile phone while sitting for the GCE Ordinary Level English Paper. Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath B Pujitha said strict action will be taken against the student under the provisions of the Public Examinations Act. The Sabaragamua Province Education Ministry has suspended the services of the school teacher who had assisted in the examination fraud and have launched a disciplinary inquiry. Both the student and teacher were arrested while exchanging text messages during the examination and they were released on bail yesterday.
