COLOMBO (News 1st) - At a recent media briefing held in Horana UPFA Parliamentarian Vidura Wickremanayake made the following comments on the structure of the United National Party. He said that although the UNP is a huge party, their mechanism has lead towards the downfall which has been brought about by its own leadership. He continued to say that Ranil Wickramasinghe only focuses on parliament and that he does not think about the possibility of losing the trust of the people. The MP questioned if Ranil had at least won the 2015 elections or even established a majority of 113. Commenting on the seniority of the SLFP, MP Vidura Wickremenayake said that just because people like Kumara Welgama make statements and consider themselves senior, it does not make them seniors. He continued to say that repercussions of these can be seen at elections and that sometimes whoever joined hands with them might have underhand dealings with either the UNP or the opposition adding that no matter what as a team that they should be able to agree with the collective decisions made as a party.
