Issues in maintaining polythene ban

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Polythene Recyclers Association claims that although a polythene ban is in place, certain factions continue to manufacture and distribute polythene. According to the Chairman of the association Anura Wijeyrathne, members of the Polythene Recyclers Association have faced numerous difficulties as a result of the failure to comply with the polythene ban. When News1st contacted the Central Environmental Authority in this regard they said that raids are being carried out to identify those who illegally manufacture and distribute polythene.
