COLOMBO (News 1st) – Based on the recommendation of the National Police Commission 65 Police Inspectors have been promoted as Superintendents of Police with immediate effect.

48 of the 65 officers have been promoted as ASPs based on an agreement reached at a court case heard by the Supreme Court. 17 other officers have been promoted based on their interviews held in 2014 as Police Superintendents.

These promotions took effect from the 10th of July 2018.
