COLOMBO (News 1st) – The petition filed at the Court of Appeal seeking to claim that the appointment of the present Prime Minister and Cabinet of Ministers are illegal will be taken up for consideration on the 30th of November and the 03rd of December.

The petition is filed by the leader of the UNP, Ranil Wickremesinghe and 122 other MPs.

49 people have been named as respondents including Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Cabinet of Ministers.

The petition was taken up today (November 26) before the bench comprising of President of Court of Appeal, P. Padman Surasena and Arjuna Obeysekara.
