Students demand elections

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two Sathyagraha campaigns are currently underway in Colombo over the current political situation of the country. The National student movement commenced a Sathayagraha at the Viharamahadevi grounds yesterday (November 25) demanding for an election to solve the current political crisis. Today is also the 6th day of the Sathyagraha campaign launched under the theme "let's unite to protect democracy" which is being staged opposite the Colombo municipal council. The Sathyagraha is organized by civil societies and trade unions affiliated to the United National Front. A group of parliamentarians representing the United National Front also joined this Sayathagraha last evening (November 25).
