COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Irrigation stated that six sluice gates of the Lunugamvehera reservoir were opened due to heavy rainfall.
The engineer of the Department of Irrigation for Thissamaharamaya Amila Shiran said that 6100 cubic feet of water is being released per second.
Residents of Thissamaharamaya, Magama and other low lying areas have been advised to be cautious.
