Colombo (News 1st) - Leader of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake spoke about the current political crisis in the country. He stated that Ranil Wickremesinghe is a leader who completely destroyed the democracy. He went on to state that when the Singapore free trade agreement was signed, and when they were selling Hambantotanthota port, the principles of democracy that they protected were questionable. He stated that Ranil is trying to cover up the dirty history of the past 3 and a half years with a cloak of democracy and that everyone knows that he is not a democratic leader. MP Anura Kumara went on to state that Ranil Wickremesinghe has never displayed traits of a democratic leader. The JVP does not change their decisions based on certain labels that they are given. We implement the decisions that we take. He went on to state that the two main functions that should be performed by a government that has been established are to formulate laws and pass the funds required. Although a government is established, both of those tasks have come to a standstill. He continued stating that the government cannot legislate or allocate funds. He then stated that when the government can't do both of this, Mahinda taking up the position of Prime Minister is questionable. Reasoning this Anura Kumara explained his view on the matter; that there are many cases that are coming up in the upcoming months. There are two cases against Basil. One is the case against misappropriating Rs 10 million from the Samurdhi fund the second is the case on the house in Malwana. There are two cases against Gotabaya, 1 is causing losses to the government to the tune of Rs. 11,400 million, due to the deal with Avant Guard. The second is the use of public funds to build their parents grave. That case is being heard in the special court. There are two cases against Namal one is the question of how he invested Rs. 30 million in Gover's company. The other case is on how he invested 15 million in another company. The two cases are being heard during the end of November and the start of December. Mahindananda has a case against him. Wimal has a case against his and so does his wife.
