Police attacked with chilli powder

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A group of police officers were attacked with chili powder by the owner of the shop when they had raided a shop in Innamaluwa Sigiriya. Police raided the shop based on a tipoff that cannabis-infused substances were being sold. The shop owner had attacked the five police officers and then an altercation ensued. One police officer was admitted while the others received medical care at the Dambulla hospital and were discharged immediately. Police confirmed that after the altercation the shop owner had fled the scene in a vehicle. Investigations are underway to apprehend the suspect.
