COLOMBO (News 1st) – Six witness statements have been recorded thus far in connection to the unrest that took place in Parliament recently. According to the police, special teams have been assigned to investigate these incidents.
Steps have been taken to obtain medical reports of the 12 police officers who sustained injuries during the parliamentary sessions on Friday. Statements have been recorded from five police officers so far.
The police said that steps will also be taken to obtain the speaker’s permission to make use of medical reports of those ministers who were injured in parliament. Meanwhile, special police investigations have been launched with the use of CCTV recordings into the incident where knives were brought into the parliamentary sessions.
