COLOMBO (News 1st) – The President’s Media Unit in a statement released a short while ago says that all parties present agreed to conduct parliamentary proceedings in a peaceful manner tomorrow (November 19).
The release further notes that the president had requested all those present that he required a majority be shown by name or electronically in order for him to accept a no-confidence motion.
According to the statement, President Sirisena had noted that this was essential to win the confidence of the public as well as the international community as it was a matter concerning the change of a government.
All invited parties attended the meeting except the JVP.
