COLOMBO (News 1st) - The all-party conference convened at the presidential secretariat ended a short while ago in a deadlock.
President Sirisena, Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ranil Wickremesinghe attended the meeting.
The UPFA and its constituent parties led by President Sirisena had requested that any No-Confidence Motion should be submitted under the correct parliamentary procedures.
However, the UNF had insisted that there are two possible processes for the passage of a No-Confidence Motion and the one they have followed is as valid as the one suggested by the President.
The UNF, therefore, insisted that both No-Confidence Motions passed in parliament last week were valid.
Speaking to News 1st soon afterwards, UNP MP Ajith P Perera stated that the UNF was ready to submit 113 signed affidavits tomorrow, proving its majority in parliament.
In what is clearly a political stalemate, UNF MP's attending the meeting indicated that the party would submit a third No-Confidence Motion to Parliament tomorrow.
