Colombo (News1st) - Addressing a media briefing in Colombo today, following the events that transpired in Parliament, UPFA MP Mahinda Samarasinghe leveled several accusations against the Speaker. He charged that Speaker Karu Jayasuriya put the No confidence motion against Mahinda Rajapaksa before the Parliament for a vote without any prior notice being granted. He also accused the Speaker of taking a vote by voice instead of opting for a vote by name method. Samarasinghe stated that it is after engaging in such actions that the Speaker declared that there was no longer a Government in place nor a cabinet of ministers.
