COLOMBO (News 1st) – An autopsy of the German tourist who died on Sunday (November 11) after stumbling off Worlds End, took place this evening (November 13).
Julia Elgie, a 35-year-old German tourist, met with this unfortunate incident while taking a selfie. The body of the German national was recovered last evening, following a six-hour search organized by the Sri Lankan army, police and groups of volunteers.
The remains were bought to the Balangoda general hospital at around 1.15 this morning. The police also recorded a statement from a friend of the deceased tourist who was accompanying her.
Upon completion of the post-mortem, the body is to be sent to a private funeral parlour in Colombo, as per a request made by the German Embassy in Colombo. The deceased had arrived in Sri Lanka on the 3rd of this month, accompanied by her friend.
