Fatal Accidents: 4 killed in the past 24 hours

COLOMBO (News 1st): Four people have died in road accidents across Sri Lanka over the past 24 hours.

Mihintale, Matale

A tipper truck collided head-on with a motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction. There were two individuals on the motorbike at the time of the accident. One died on-the-spot while the other sustained severe injuries and is receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital ICU. The driver of the tipper truck has been arrested by the Mihinthale Police and is scheduled to be produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate Court.

Aralaganwila, Polonnaruwa

An accident involving a pick-up truck and a motorcycle claimed the life of one. The driver of the pick-up truck and the motorbike pillion rider have sustained minor injuries.

Madampe

A child died and 3 others were injured following a collision between a three-wheeler and a lorry. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old died in another accident in Serunuwara
