SLFP to create broad alliance for upcoming election

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has announced that they will be contesting the upcoming elections under a broad alliance that will include 10 different political parties. General Secretary of the SLFP Prof Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa said that rather than making hasty decisions based on minor incidents, the leadership of the party will be focused on emerging victorious at the upcoming elections. The General Secretary continued to say that the party's main objective now is to create a broad alliance under the leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena. Piyadasa said that the opportunity for the people to vote was granted by the president without even considering the threat he has to his life. He added that the party is currently acting with patience and looking at the facts analytically so that it does not harm the core of their objectives.
