Colombo (News1st) – Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan in a tweet announced that discussions he held discussions about the current political situation of the country with the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
During the meeting which was held at the Opposition Leader’s official residence, the Opposition Leader had informed the US Ambassador that the new Prime Minister was appointed unconstitutionally.
The Opposition Leader has also said that the proroguing of parliament was an undemocratic act and that the country needs the US to assist in fulfilling the promises made to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
