Met Department forecasts heavy rainfall across the island

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Heavy rainfall occurred across the island today (November 01). Puttalam experienced rainfall of 156.2 mm, whilst Katunayake recorded rainfall of 62.9 mm and Mannar recorded a rainfall of 52 mm. The Met Department stated that owing to the low-level atmospheric disturbance around Sri Lanka that the rainfall is expected to continue. Heavy showers of 100 mm is forecasted to occur across the island concentrated in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, North-western, Uva and Central provinces.
