COLOMBO (News 1st) – Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be assuming duties as the Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka later today. (October 29).
Secretary of the Prime Minister, S. Amarasekara confirmed that he will be taking up duties at 11.00 am today.
He was appointed as the Prime Minister by President Maithrpala Sirisena on the 26th of October.
Meanwhile, issuing a release Mahinda Rajapaksa urges all parties to get together in constructing a transitional government in the country.
