COLOMBO (News 1st) – Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa assumed duties as the 22nd Prime Minister of Sri Lanka a short while ago.
A large number of parliamentarians, as well as members of the Maha Sanga, were present at the occasion.
Rajapaksa assumed duties following religious observances. He was sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena on the 26th of October.
