Eight inmates of Agunukolapelessa transferred following protest

Colombo (News1st): The Prison Department states that eight inmates who were involved in the recent protest at the Angunukolapelessa prison have been transferred to other prisons. The department's spokesperson Thushara Upuldeniya said that underworld figure 'Julampitiya Amare' was one of the transferred inmates. The protest was carried out in objection to the search operations launched by the Police Special Task Force.
