COLOMBO (News 1st) - Convening a press conference in Colombo today, (October 23) Leader of the National Unity Alliance Azath Salley said that the people had witnessed how MP Kavinda Jayawardene had said that he is fed up with the Yaha Palanaya government. Azath Salley continued to say that MP Jayawardene had said that the former government was replaced with the current one with a promise of punishing those responsible for corruption but has yet been incapable of putting even one thief behind bars. Expressing views on the current situation of UNP and its leader, he said that MPs were bribed with Rs. 200,000 to remain silent until the year 2100 after which Prime Minister Wickremesinghe will hand over the UNP leadership to someone younger. Azath Salley added that if one individual is removed from the UNP, a majority of its problems could be solved.
