Angunkolapelessa prison protest called off

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Inmates who staged a protest atop the Angunukolapelessa prison held discussions with prison officials today (October 22). Prison Media Spokesperson Thushara Upuldeniya said the officials will pay special attention to the problems presented by the inmates and that a team comprising of 45 prison intelligence officers were assigned yesterday (October 21) for the purpose. Following discussions with the officials, the protest was called off.
