Gota's lawyers withdraw appeal

Colombo (News 1st) - The appeal filed at the Court of Appeal by Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse in order to "not be arrested" was withdrawn by the appealing party. President's Counsel Romesh de Silva appearing on behalf of Gotabaya Rajapaksa pointed out to the Court of Appeal that the Attorney General has promised that no arrest will be made under the Public Property Act in the case of Gotabaya Rajapaksa using Rs. 30.9 million to construct the D.A Rajapaksa museum. President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Preethi Padman Surasena and Justice Arjuna Obeysekara who considered the President Counsel's request to present accurate facts about this to court in the coming days, ordered for the appeal to be postponed to the 2nd of November.
