Colombo (News1st): The Colombo High Court today (October 17) permitted Former Fisheries Minister Sarath Kumara Gunaratne to travel overseas.
Indictments were filed against the Former Minister and five others for the misappropriation of state funds to the tune of over Rs. 12 million belonging to the Ceylon Fisheries Harbour Corporation during the run-up to the 2015 Presidential Election.
High Court Judge Sashi Mahendran issued an order on the Presidential Secretary to immediately submit the report of the Presidential Commission of inquiry into serious acts of Fraud, Corruption, and Abuse of Power relating to this particular incident to the Court Registrar.
The case will be taken up again on the 12th of December.
