Colombo (News1st): The Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources & Disaster Management Duminda Dissanayake states that he believes that an investigation would be conducted immediately regarding the Rs. 150 million that had been deposited from a foreign account to an account of a Cabinet minister. While rejecting allegations that the money was deposited into one of his accounts, the minister stated that they do not know the identity of this minister, but it would be ideal if the media can name this minister. Minister Dissanayake added that he was informed of this through Lanka E-News as they had used one of his pictures for their article. He went on to note that even though the face was blurred his hand was still visible and many had commented stating it is him. According to the minister he had questioned the owner of Lanka E-News, as to why they used his picture. Minister Duminda Dissanayake questioned as to who will take responsibility for this character assassination. He added that the Central Bank can state if any minister's account had been frozen by them and the media has the right to ask as to who this minister is, where this account is and when the account was frozen. The Minister finally noted that the only reason his account would be frozen would be because of a lack of funds over an extended period of time adding that all 225 members of Parliament have been forced to take responsibility for the faults of one or two persons.
