COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Ministry of Irrigation and Disaster Management is to construct 10,000 prefabricated homes, often referred to as prefab homes that can withstand natural disasters.

These homes are to be given to families that are living in landslide-prone areas.

Minister Duminda Dissanayake said Rs. 253 million will be spent on the construction of 1,170 houses as phase one of the project.
