B for bonds, V for VAT and W for Wickramasinghe - Anura Kumara

Colombo (News 1st) - The Leader of JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake expressed views on the fuel price formula in the Parliament today (September 20). MP Anura Kumara stated that the government is talking about various formulae with varying letters such as B, V and W. He sarcastically states that B means bonds, V is for VAT and W is for Wickramasinghe. MP Anura Kumara then notes that the fishing industry is affected by the increase of fuel. He states that the fishing boats who stay in the sea for multiple days for fishing expeditions are discouraged due to the fuel price increase. He questions the Parliament as to whether diesel could be sold to a concessionary rate to the fishermen. Adding to this statement, Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development, MP Gamini Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa states that a cabinet proposal would be presented inorder to provide subsidies for the multi-day fishermen.
