Wildlife officer killed in elephant attack

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An officer attached to the Wildlife Department has been killed in an elephant attack. The deceased has been identified as a 53-year-old resident of Ihalapuliyankulama, Munamaldeniya. Another officer attached to the department had sustained injuries from the attack. The Police stated that the unfortunate incident had occurred when the officer was attempting to ward off elephants.
