COLOMBO (News 1st) – Four fishermen who were stranded at sea, 26 nautical miles off the Kirinda Fisheries harbor, have been rescued by an inshore patrol craft attached to the Southern Naval Command.

The trawler named “Kamila II” had left the Kirinda fisheries harbor on the 10th of September. The trawler had capsized close to the Little Bases Lighthouse.

Upon the information provided by the Fisheries Inspectorate at Kirinda, an inshore patrol craft on routine patrol was promptly dispatched by the SL Navy in order to rescue the fishermen.

The rescued fishermen were safely brought to Kirinda fisheries harbour and handed over to their relatives.
