“India is committed to SL towards development” – Indian High Commissioner

Colombo (News1st): Addressing the convocation of the Eastern University yesterday (September 15), the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Taranjit Singh Sandhu stated that India remains committed to walking with Sri Lanka in the journey towards development.

He added that they are happy for being able to support Sri Lanka in whatever way they can and their development partnership with Sri Lanka stands today at US $3 billion.

The Indian High Commissioner said their projects are spread all over the island and cover a wide variety of sectors and India is delighted that they are able too complete a series of projects in the east.

One of the main pillars of our bilateral relationship has been education and skill development and the government of India offers 750 scholarships annually to Sri Lankan students for undergraduate, post-graduate and doctorate said High Commissioner Sandhu.
