MR says Gotabhaya needs security to prevent getting assassinated

Colombo (News 1st) - Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa states that security should be given to Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa as revelations were made about a conspiracy to assassinate him. The former President Mahinda Rajapaksa states that an investigation should be done if there is a threat of assassination. He states that the government has not taken the relevant measures yet. He further notes that there were conspiracies as such during Mrs. Bandaranaike's tenure. When a journalist asked about the possible presidential candidate, Mahinda Rajapaksa refutes claims that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will be the next presidential candidate in 2020.
