Land in Uva-Wellasa will only be sold over their dead bodies

Colombo (News 1st) - An event was organized today (Septemeber 15), in the Ridimaliyadda, Dehigama area where the signing of a petition in blood took place. The objective of signing this petition was to express their opposition in giving 65,000 acres in the Uva - Wellassa area to Multi-National Companies. JVP Uva Provincial Councilor Samantha Vidyaratna stated that they are signing the petition to stop the acquisition of land by multi-nationals. He noted that the land in Uva-Wellassa will not be given to any multi-national companies until they live.
