SLPP PS member arrested in connection to Aruwakkalu protest

Colombo (News1st) - Two persons have been arrested following a protest in Aruwakkalu against a proposed garbage disposal site. According to the Police, an SLPP member of the Wanathavilluwa Pradeshiya Sabah is among the arrested suspects. A protest was staged against the garbage site on Sunday (Sept 9th) by area residents who opposed the proposal citing various health concerns. The two suspects have been charged with causing damages to a building attached to the garbage site during the protest.
