Inquiry launched into Galaha incident

Colombo (News1st) - An immediate inquiry will be held in connection to the death of a toddler who was admitted to the Galaha Hospital for treatment. Minister of Health, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne made this statement at the Cabinet Media briefing this morning (August 29), stressing that strict action will be taken after the inquiry. The Police Special Task Force had to intervene to diffuse a tense situation that arose at the Galaha Hospital yesterday (August 29), after a crowd of more than 500 surrounded the premises and caused serious damage to hospital buildings and doctors vehicles.
